Tunisia's leading mobile phone operator, TUNISIANA, which became Ooredoo on April 24, 2014, is the Tunisian subsidiary of the Ooredoo Group. In July 2012, Tunisiana launched 3G services for more than 6.6 million subscribers and covering 48% of the population. In 2014, the network was extended to nearly 90% of the population. The license issued by the State allows Tunisiana to deploy an HSPA+ network on both 900Mhz and 2100 Mhz ensuring wider coverage covering the regions of interior and high definition "HD wide band AMR" voice quality. The network allows speeds of up to 42 Mbps to ensure the best service to its subscribers.
